What is Tylosin Phosphate?
Active Ingredients: Tylosin Phosphate
Tylosin Phosphate Premix is an antibiotic feed additive intended for poultry and pigs. It treats or prevents certain bacterial infections and improves the health of the animals. In cattle, Tylosin reduces the incidence of liver abscesses caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Actinomyces pyogenes.
In poultry, Tylosin is used to increase weight gain and feed efficiency due to atrophic rhinitis. In broilers and replacement chickens, it helps with chronic respiratory disease from Mycoplasma gallisepticum.
For swine, this premix increases weight gain and food efficiency. It also controls swine dysentery caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae and porcine proliferative enteropathies due to Lawsonia intracellularis.
Tylosin is classified as a macrolide antibiotic. It has been derived from the fermentation product of Streptomyces fradiae. Tylosin shows a broad spectrum of activity against gram-positive organisms and a limited range of gram-negative organisms. It is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium, Campylobacter, Bacillus anthracis, Moraxella bovis, Clostridium, Haemophilus, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and Spirochaetes.
