What is Penicillin G Procaine?
Active Ingredients: Penicillin G Procaine
Penicillin G Procaine Suspension for Injection is used to treat bacterial infections in many different species of animals, including pigs, camels, goats, sheep, horses, cats, and dogs. It can be used to treat infections like shipping fever or erysipelas. This antibiotic is not effective against penicillinase-producing bacteria.
Penicillin G procaine is the combination of the antibiotic penicillin G potassium and the local anaesthetic agent procaine hydrochloride. Penicillin G belongs to the penicillin family of antibiotics, and it works by inhibiting cell wall formation. Procaine helps reduce pain, as penicillin G may cause localized pain reactions following intramuscular administration.
Penicillin G procaine is also known by the names procaine benzylpenicillin and procaine G penicillin.
