What is Tiamulin?
Active Ingredients: Tiamulin
Tiamulin Injection is an antibiotic drug used to treat certain infections in animals like pigs, cows, goats, sheep and poultry. It is an effective treatment for swine dysentery and Mycoplasma arthritis. This antibiotic is also indicated for the treatment of illnesses like swine erysipelas and enzootic pneumonia complex.
Tiamulin is classified as a pleuromutilin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis. Tiamulin shows bacteriostatic action against gram-positive bacteria, Mycoplasma, and anaerobes, including Pasteurella, Bacteroides, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, and Klebsiella pneumonia.

How is a Tiamulin Injection used?
This medication has been manufactured as a liquid, which is packaged in a vial. It is intended to be administered by intramuscular injection. Tiamulin Injection is intended for veterinary use only.
How should Tiamulin Injection be stored?
This medication should be stored in a dark, dry location under 30°C. The vial should be sealed tightly.
What is the withdrawal period for Tiamulin?
The withdrawal time is 14 days.
Dosage
How much Tiamulin Injection should be given to pigs?
The usual dose is 15mg/kg.
Do not administer more than 3.5ml per injection site.

Side Effects
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Tiamulin Injection.
Some common side effects may include but are not limited to: • mild swelling
Serious side effects may include:
- allergic reaction (skin rash, fever, facial swelling, or difficulty breathing)
- depression or death when administered within 7 days of polyether ionophores

Precautions
Do NOT use Tiamulin Injection for an animal that:
