What is Spiramycin + Oxytetracycline + Bromhexine + Paracetamol?
Active Ingredients: Spiramycin, Oxytetracycline, Bromhexine, Paracetamol
Spiramycin + Oxytetracycline + Bromhexine + Paracetamol Tablets are a fixed-dose combination drug used for the treatment of infections of the gastrointestinal and respiratory systems in birds and poultry. These tablets contain four active ingredients: two antimicrobial agents (Spiramycin and Oxytetracycline), a mucolytic compound (Bromhexine), and an analgesic/antipyretic (Paracetamol).
This drug is effective against infections caused by bacteria such as Colibacillosis, Salmonella, Bordetella, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Mycoplasma, Rickettsia and Chlamydia.
Spiramycin is classified as a macrolide with antibiotic and antiparasitic properties. It is used for the treatment and control of a number of bacterial and Mycoplasmal infections in animals.
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic in the tetracycline family. It is derived from the fermented product of Streptomyces rimosus. This drug works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacteria. It is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Mycoplasma, Diplococcus, and E. coli. It also shows action against Chlamydia, Rickettsia, and Spirochetes.
Bromhexine HCl is mucolytic. It works to break down mucus, which increases bronchial secretion. This action increases the drug's ability to penetrate bronchial tubes, which leads to a faster and more effective concentration of these antimicrobials.
Paracetamol belongs to the groups of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics. It shows a strong ability for pain management but exhibits weak anti-inflammatory activity. Paracetamol is also known by the name Acetaminophen.
