What is Linezolid?
Active Ingredients: Linezolid
Linezolid Injection is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections, such as community-acquired pneumonia, nosocomial pneumonia, infections of the skin, and certain drug-resistant infections. This medication is sometimes used to treat bacterial infections in the brain or spinal cord.
Linezolid is classified as an oxazolidinone antibiotic. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis within the bacteria. Linezolid shows action against many gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Streptococcus agalactiae. It has also shown action against vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium.
Linezolid is also a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAO) inhibitor.
This Linezolid Injection has been manufactured as a sterile, single-dose container for intravenous administration.
