What is Calcium Folinate?
Active Ingredients: Calcium Folinate
Calcium Folinate, also called folinic acid or leucovorin calcium, is an adjuvant medication used in cancer chemotherapy. It is typically used to reduce the harmful effects of certain types of anticancer medications, such as methotrexate. Calcium Folinate is also used to treat some types of megaloblastic anemia.
Calcium Folinate is a reduced form of folic acid. Calcium Folinate allows nucleic acid synthesis to continue despite the presence of a folic acid antagonist.
